The Czech Republic is a popular destination: free education in Czech, a low cost of living and the chance to work while you study.
For study you apply for a long-term visa (processing time — up to 4 months). You should apply in advance.
The main advantage: study in Czech at state universities is free for international students. Programmes in English are fee-paying.
For free education you need a Czech certificate at B2 level (the CCE exam). One-year courses are available to prepare. For English-taught programmes — IELTS 6.0–6.5.
A Bachelor's requires a school certificate with nostrification (recognition). A Master's requires a Bachelor's degree. Document package: passport, diplomas with notarised translation, language certificate, statement of purpose, criminal record certificate, medical insurance, and proof of finances.
Choose a programme. If you don't know Czech — take a one-year course. Sit the entrance exams (tests or an interview). Application deadlines — February–March for the autumn semester.
Receive an offer from the university, apply for the visa at the embassy (in person), submit biometrics, and provide insurance and proof of finances. After arrival, register with the police within 3 days.
You are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week without a separate permit, and full-time in summer.
12 months out — choose the university. 10 months out — start learning Czech. 8 months out — enrol in courses. 6 months out — gather and translate documents. 4–5 months out — submit the application. 3–4 months out — apply for the visa. 1 month out — receive the visa and fly out.
A low level of Czech. Applying for the visa too late. Lacking nostrification. Incorrect medical insurance. Missing deadlines.
We will select a university and programme for free (including free Czech-taught ones), help with nostrification and documents, enrol you in language courses, arrange the visa, and organise transfer and accommodation.
With Edunation, admission to the Czech Republic is realistic and accessible. Start with a free consultation.
